The Home Depot donates 500 smoke detectors
NORTHWEST CORNER - As a result of a gift from The Home Depot, 500 free smoke detectors are available to area residents, Fire Marshal Bill Baldwin said.
"It’s important," Baldwin said, about having a smoke detector in the home. "A lot of people don’t have them."
To obtain a free smoke detector, residents in Barkhamsted, Goshen, Harwinton and New Hartford must contact their first selectman’s office, Baldwin said.
Residents in Winsted who wish to obtain a detector must contact the fire marshal’s office, Baldwin said.
Anyone with questions may contact Bill Baldwin at 860-601-8940.
