~~A GREAT TORRINGTON LADY Missed Daily As Mother's Day Is Near~~
People ask me at times why I used to write stories in the paper a few years back.
This blog thing is a little new to me and honestly I am not sure how much it is being read?
While today will be a very short blog, it is as simple as this mail in which i have hundreds of that speak volumes!
I do dedicate this column to Lynne Naehrig as we lost her way to early in life and the kind words by Terese, whom I do not know, again is why I did what I did!

My name is Terese, I am Lynne's sister. Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated the article you wrote about my sister on April 8, 2006. I intended to speak with you at the dedication for the scoreboard, you had already left. It is so comforting to know how many friends loved my sister. She was more like my mother than my sister, so a big piece of me went with her. I have your article next to her picture on my china cabinet, I read it at least once a week. It is very comforting. Once again, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It meant more than you could know.

wow Mike, do not even know you but this brought a tear to my eye.just moved to torrington in the past year and wish our family knew the Torrington that it was you know.
People are reading as I only know about this from people that work at city hall as I heard kind comments being said yesterday so people may not comment but they are reading it, wish I knew this lady,my son says there is a scoreboard in her name at a baseball field. keep writing, I will keep reading =)

yes, there are people reading but many just do not like to write or get involved - just to let you know there are people there that really enjoy what you do & would love to see you back in print as well how do we get that to happen? can you write us back here and let us know, the ten people who work here ALL loved your sunday stories as we all grew up in torrington and are older as well. readers; write up and support michael he is good for the town,mary

i cant believe its already been over two years without her.. Im the youngest son of hers, adam.. i just wanted to say thanks so much for all of the aticles you have done involvign my mother, reading these really bring a smile to my face knowing that you care.. I also wanted to say that your an awesome writer and i read your articles every week when they are in the penny saver.. good by for now, cant wait to read another
